Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information MoneyTree collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using MoneyTree, you agree to the practices described here.

Information You Provide

When you create an account, we collect your full name, username, email address, gender, date of birth, country, and preferred currency. If you choose to set a profile photo, we store the image you provide. We also store the password you choose in a securely hashed form — we never keep your password in plain text.

Financial Information You Enter

MoneyTree stores the income and expense transactions, amounts, categories, dates, and notes that you choose to record. This information is used only to provide the app's tracking, history, and reporting features to you.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate your account, display your financial data and summaries, secure sign-in, send password-reset codes when requested, and respond to support messages. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your financial data for advertising.

Push Notifications

If you enable notifications, we store the push subscription your browser or device provides and your time zone so we can send reminders and alerts (such as logging reminders, budget pace, goals, and streak milestones) at the right local time. You can turn notifications off at any time from the in-app notification settings, which removes the stored subscription. We use these details only to deliver the notifications you requested.

Usage and Device Information

To operate and improve the Service, we record limited usage information such as when you were last active, whether you have installed the app to your home screen, and activity counts used for features like logging streaks and achievements. This information is tied to your account and is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored using Cloudflare infrastructure (including Cloudflare D1) on our behalf. Transactional emails, such as password reset notifications, may be delivered through a third-party email provider. These providers process data only to support the Service.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including hashing PINs, authenticating requests, and transmitting data over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual transactions at any time, and you can delete your entire account from the Settings screen. Deleting your account removes your profile and financial records from the active database.

Children's Privacy

MoneyTree is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Your Choices

You can view and update your profile information in the app, change your password, and delete your account. If you have questions about your data or wish to request its removal, contact the app administrator.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. We will revise the effective date above when we make changes and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
